  • Hey What's That Path Profiler - This site is great for finding the latitude, longitude and elevation of a site. You can also look at a profile of elevations over any distance you need, great for estimating the direction of groundwater flow.

  • Illinois EPA Document Explorer - This online tool was created to improve transparency and public access to documents held by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. You can use this tool to search more than 26,000 sites/facilities for such documents as air construction and operating permits, NPDES discharge permits, LUST technical documents, remediation technical documents and other technical documents.

  • Illinois Oil and Gas Resources Mapping Project - This site, managed by the Illinois State Geological Survey, enables online access to a large database of over 200,000 Illinois oil and gas well records. The site includes an interactive map.

  • Illinois Water Wells and Depth to Groundwater - This official repository of records of wells drilled in Illinois is maintained by the Illinois State Geological Survey. It also includes an interactive map.

  • Java Ground Motion Calculator - This application produces seismic hazard curves, uniform hazard response spectra, and seismic design values for U.S. sites. This is a great resource when preparing geotechnical investigations.

  • National Sole Source Aquifer - This federal resource features indexes and Esri shape files of the designated and sole source aquifers and related aquifer boundaries.

  • Seismic Zone Map - These maps, created by the U.S. Geological Survey, display earthquake ground motions for various probability levels across the U.S. and are applied in seismic provisions of building codes, insurance rate structures, risk assessments, and other public policy.
